Message from Laure Maitrejean
WWSF Children’s Section Coordinator

2007 was a very successful year of activities. We are happy to report that more and more organizations, UN agencies and governments are focusing on prevention of abuse and violence against children. Prioritizing prevention is becoming a global demand. We invite you to join and support our programs in 2008 (wdpca@wwsf.ch).

not enough. Every day, all together, let us unite for better prevention."

Geneva

Conference: In Geneva, WWSF HQ, the World Day was commemorated at the World Meteorological Organization with a Conference on progress in prevention of child abuse. 2007 theme: “Television, Advertising, Internet: What influence on our children?” Many experts, including a judge, a lawyer, a politician, a policeman, NGO representatives and journalists, addressed the topic by sharing with the audience their knowledge, experience and recommendations to governments and the media. WWSF took this opportunity to announce the four laureate organizations that received the 2007 Prize for Prevention of Child Abuse. A reception offered people to exchange with the panelists. www.woman.ch/children/1-coalitionimpact
